MONTREAL

A City-born Yusuf, 12, spends summer in his father's native Jordan, meeting Abu Kahlil, 70, in a village with a Crusader castle. Through challenges, Yusuf aids Abu-Khalil's acting resurgence amidst local fame. When Abu-Khalil's wife gets ill, and their home faces acquisition for a resort, Yusuf, with newfound allies, plans a battle to protect their heritage.
